Ghassan Makki

Ghassan Makki founded and leads the firm. Fifteen years in UAE legal practice, the last several built almost entirely around the regulation of digital assets, tokenisation and financial-markets licensing, the fields where the rules are newest and the cost of a wrong answer is highest. His work sits where a token, a fund or a licence application meets an unsettled regulatory question, and his role is to find the answer before the client is exposed.

His practice runs the full lifecycle of a regulated digital-asset or capital-markets matter: what an instrument is under the applicable rulebook, which regulator and licence it falls to, how the issuer, fund or holding vehicle is built, and the route through to authorisation or close. He works across the four UAE regulators that touch this field, VARA, ADGM FSRA, DFSA and the CMA, and across the corridors where the capital actually moves: UAE-Japan, UAE-Indonesia, UAE-Luxembourg, UAE-UK and UAE-Cyprus.

Before specialising, he spent years in the UAE courts, leading the consultation department of a Dubai advocacy practice and running real-estate, commercial and corporate litigation to the level of the Court of Cassation. That courtroom grounding is what sits behind the structuring: he builds positions to survive challenge, because he has spent years challenging them.
